Position Description:  Custodian

Location:  Roanoke Rapids Graded School District

Position Type:  Classified

Reports To:  Principal 

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent with previous cleaning experience and working knowledge of basic cleaning methods, procedures and techniques;
• Previous experience cleaning floors preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assists in maintaining building cleanliness; scrubs, sweeps, mops, vacuums, waxes and polishes floors; cleans restrooms; washes windows and walls; removes trash and performs other cleaning/disinfecting actions to help keep the building clean and healthful;
• Moves furniture and equipment; sets up and tears down furniture for special events; strips floors; and performs minor repairs to furniture, equipment and to the building;
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
